THE 100 WHEELS PROJECT
In December 2008, Pine Street Carpenters launched "The 100 Wheels Project," an annual community outreach initiative to provide disadvantaged children in the community with brand new bicycles for the holidays. As part of the project, we purchase unassembled bicycles and our employees and friends gather for an evening of bike-assembling! It is their sweat equity that enables us to provide "100 Wheels" to disadvantaged children throughout the region. To date, we have donated 266 bikes to deserving children for the holidays. To read more about this project, click here. To support this annual project through a donation toward a bicycle, helmet, or bike lock, please email us at info@pinestreetcarpenters.com.

PINE STREET CARPENTERS HELPS LAUNCH "THE TYLER ARBORETUM WRITING PROJECT"
As one of the exhibitors in Tyler Arboretum's special exhibit Nature's Enchantment (2010-2011), Pine Street Carpenters partnered with the arboretum to launch "The Tyler Arboretum Writing Project." Our exhibit, titled What Lies Beneath?, features a mysterious and unexplained door leading underground. Visitors to Tyler Arboretum are encouraged to answer the question What Lies Beneath? by writing a story or poem inspired by the exhibit. Submitted stories are collectively published at www.tylerarboretumwritingproject.com. We are thrilled to partner with Tyler Arboretum on this innovative community writing project and we invite you to participate. Visit Tyler Arboretum today... and get writing! Can't make it to Tyler? PINE STREET CARPENTERS BUILDS THOREAU CABIN REPLICA AT TYLER ARBORETUM
In 2008, Pine Street Carpenters was one of the lead sponsors of Tyler Arboretum's exhibit, Totally Terrific Treehouses. Located in Media, PA, Tyler Arboretum is one of the oldest and largest arboreta in the northeastern United States, encompassing some 650 acres. As a sponsor of this exhibit, we constructed a replica of Henry David Thoreau's cabin at Walden Pond. Pine Street Carpenters won the "Best Craftsmanship" award for the exhibit, and Thoreau's Cabin is now a permanent fixture at Tyler Arboretum. Be sure to stop by Tyler Arboretum to visit the cabin and enjoy a fun-filled day in the woods! For more information about this unique project, please click here. Each year, our team of riders joins thousands of cyclists in the race for a cure, biking from Philadelphia to Mays Landing, NJ. During that time, we have raised over $50,000 for the ACS. This July, we'll be riding in the 40th annual ACS Bike-a-thon. We invite you to ride with us as part of the Pine Street Carpenters team. WATER FOR WASLALA
Pine Street Carpenters is a proud supporter of Water for Waslala, an innovative project which provides potable water systems to the impoverished people of Waslala, Nicaragua. Established in 2004 under the auspices of the Augustinian Volunteers, a faith-based volunteer program similar to the Peace Corps, Water for Waslala has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to build community water systems in Nicaragua. These water systems provide the region with a source of safe and clean water, helping to save lives through the elimination of preventable waterborne diseases. Each May, Water for Waslala holds a Walk for Water fundraiser on the campus of Villanova University. To get involved, we invite you to visit www.waterforwaslala.org.
